According to Mail Online, a new study revealed that physical activity is the most effective tool in fighting obesity. Just one hour a week of jogging or swimming could be more effective on fighting obesity than to count calories.
The study says that ‘this data challenges the idea of attributing the obesity epidemic mainly to excessive caloric intake and support the universal value of physical activity to maintain a healthy body weight.’
The team of scientists who were responsible for the study looked at data from nearly 17,400 people from six ethnic groups. The participants were recruited from 17 countries and researchers followed them for more than three years.
